The local councils of Attard, Balzan and Lija have joined forces in a bid to ease the traffic problems of the three localities.

Plagued by daily traffic jams in a number of areas, the councils are working together on a comprehensive traffic management plan for their localities. Their representatives have met officials of the Malta Transport Authority (ADT) where the problems and their possible solutions were discussed. They have identified an expert who will be assisting them in drawing up the traffic management plan, which will then be sent to the ADT for consideration.

They are hoping that the new arrangements will be in place later on in the year, the three councils said in a joint statement.

They have pledged to keep residents informed throughout the process.
