Krishna played Overseas on Saturday in another match from the 2007 Globalair Summer League at Marsa.

John Grima and Frank Spiteri opened the batting for Krishna after winning the toss. The in-form Spiteri continued with his scoring spree and hit 59 runs from 41 balls, scoring six 4s and a 6 along the way. Grima scored 18 from as many balls faced.

Nowell Khosla struggled and could only make four runs. Mark G. Sacco scored ten. Moreover, two batsmen, Nadeem Ashraf and Sam Dhandapani, were both out for a duck, Ashraf being his second in a row.

All wickets that fell up to that point were taken by Glen Tavilla.

He ended the match with six wickets for 12 runs from five overs, the best bowling performance to date in the league.

Tavilla also managed to bowl a maiden (no runs scored in the over), the first in the competition.

Mike Smith chipped in with one other wicket, that of Sagar Krishna for eight runs. Krishna totalled 139 runs from their allotted overs.

Tim Wheeler and Grant Williams opened the batting for Overseas.

Wheeler scored 15 and Williams 35 runs. Keith Abernathy scored one run and Greg O'Shea scored two.

Mike Smith and Tavilla then tried to lift their team's spirit, scoring 18 and 17 runs respectively. It was not enough though as Overseas could only manage 129 from their allotted overs.

Krishna got eight points for their win and Overseas had to settle for two.

Standings: Krishna 18, Overseas 13, Marsa 11, Melita nil.

Saturday: Marsa vs Overseas - 1 p.m. Nursery activities start at 9.30 a.m.
