Single-figure golf handicapper Maureen Borg won the RMGC Nokia Golf Championship for the 13th time since 1987.

In very hot conditions, Borg played off scratch over two days to win the women's championship with an aggregate score of 165.

Her nearest rival this year was Maike Beekman. She was runner-up with an aggregate score of 174.

The Nokia Moya Hann Trophy - the parallel scratch tournament for players who usually play off handicaps 23 or higher - was won by Eileen Borg.

Her runner-up was Mandy Lucasse. Their scores were 191 and 198 respectively.

All four golfers were presented with a new mobile phone by Chris Briffa of Nokia/Intercomp. They will be formally presented with the engraved championship trophies at the upcoming summer presentation evening at the club on July 7.
