Dance video selected for Portugal festival

Contact Dance Company's dance video has been selected for presentation in the Video-Dance Showcase of the 15th Quinzena de Danca de Almada contemporary dance festival in Portugal.

Corpus was created and directed in 2001 by choreographer Francesca Abela Tranter in collaboration with the company's dancers and musician Ruben Zahra. It has since travelled globally, giving the company the opportunity to reach a wide international audience.

Corpus has been viewed in dance for screen festivals in France, Hungary, Turkey, Germany, Cyprus, Brazil, the UK and South Africa.

Ms Abela Tranter, CDC's artistic director, continues to be encouraged to work and invest in its next multi-media project 2007/2008, marking the 10th anniversary of the dance company, established in 1998.

Over the next few months, CDC will be engaged in a series of projects in the run-up to its anniversary next year. In two weeks' time, the company flies to Poland to participate in the Bytom Contemporary Dance Festival to perform two works.
