Appreciation - Ferdinand Demicoli

Jason Bonnici, Communications Office, Nature Trust, writes:

Nature Trust (Malta), the environmental NGO, mourns the untimely and unexpected loss of Ferdinand Demicoli. For the past years, Mr Demicoli was the NGO's scientific advisor on energy and technology and activities' coordinator.

His intellectual ability was paralleled by bags of enthusiasm and dedication. Known and respected in various environmental and social circles and networks as a nature lover, he was a true activist and fully embodied the spirit of volunteerism. He specialised in environmental management and made invaluable contributions with regard to various environmental controversies of the past years.

Over the years he has been a pioneer in linking environmental awareness with tourism studies and generations of students and young people, at both national and international levels, in both formal and non-formal education, have had the privilege to share his insight and in-depth analysis of the tourism industry and to taste his foresight and vision in projecting a tourism industry compatible with sustainable development and environmental protection.

NTM expresses its most sincere condolences to his family and friends in this moment of grief. The NGO plans to officially dedicate the educational section of an upcoming environmental project to Ferdinand Demicoli in long-lasting and affectionate memory and respect.
