• Xaghra parish is organising a seminar for the parish clergy and members of local organisations, addressed by Bishop Mario Grech, at Manresa House, Victoria, today between 4.30 and 8 p.m.

• Fontana parish celebrates the titular feast of the Sacred Heart with a pontifical concelebrated Mass led by Bishop Grech at 8.45 a.m. There will be band marches at 11 a.m. and pony races in St Domenica Street at 1.30 p.m. (in collaboration with the local council). Mgr Ruzario Borg leads solemn vespers, at 6.30 p.m. The procession with the statue, accompanied by the La Stella Band, starts at 7.30 p.m. The Precursor and Ite ad Joseph Bands will participate.

The feast will also be celebrated at Gozo General Hospital with Mass celebrated by Bishop Emeritus Nikol Cauchi today at 9.30 a.m. The Good Shepherd pastoral centre's Kor Fraternitas will participate.

• The Gozo Cana Movement marks Father's Day today with Mass, celebrated by movement director Fr George Borg, at the Santa Marija cemetery chapel, near the Xewkija cemetery, at 4.15 p.m.

• Din L-Art Helwa is holding an Open Week this week at Comino Tower, hosted by Dr Stephen Spiteri, daily (except Thursday) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations to DLH towards the ongoing maintenance on the tower and gun battery will be appreciated.

• Nadur council is holding a series of activities this week on Archpriest Martin Camilleri Square including a children's activity on Tuesday at 8.30 p.m. The traditional Mnarja dinner will be held on Thursday at 8.30 p.m., with the participation of Renato and the Nadur and Astra Folk Groups. There will be various activities for young people on Friday, while an agrarian exhibition will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

• The feast of the call of Our Lady of Ta' Pinu will be celebrated with Mass throughout the morning and at 5.30 and 6.30 p.m. on Wednesday, the 72nd anniversary of the crowning of the statue. There will be adoration in the chapel between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. There will be Mass at 8 p.m. with a homily by Fr Charles Fenech, OP, director of Radju Marija. Bishop Grech leads the recitation of the rosary on the Ta' Pinu Sanctuary parvis at 9 p.m.

There will be Mass on Thursday morning at 7 and 8.30. The recitation of the rosary will be held at 6 p.m. The translation of the relic and Mass be held at 6.30 p.m.

Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 5, 6, 7, and 11. Bishop Grech leads a solemn pontifical Mass at 9 a.m. There will be silent adoration between noon and 5 p.m., and again between 9 and 10 p.m., and the rosary at 7 p.m. Bishop Emeritus Nikol Cauchi leads a solemn pontifical Mass at 8 p.m. Some celebrations will be broadcast on Radju Marija 102.3/107.8 FM.

• A coffee morning in aid of the Guatemala missions will be held at Crystal Palace, Victoria, on Thursday at 9. For tickets call 2155-6509.

• Following its 10th anniversary celebrations last month, Poetry on Gozo is holding its first gathering of the 11th year at Ta' Rikardu in the citadel on June 27 at 8.30 p.m. There will be guitar music and keyboards by Joe Engerer and Stephen Attard. Everybody can come and read, even their own work, or just come and listen. Entrance is free.

• The Victoria Scout Group is holding an al fresco dinner at Villa Rundle Gardens on June 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets at Lm4 (children under 12, Lm2) are available from the Scouts' headquarters (tel. 2155-6497) or GSL Lorrie Saliba (7939-8928). Bookings by June 27.
