A 39-year-old woman was charged yesterday with murdering her two teenage daughters at their home in a Cambridgeshire village.

Rehka Kumari-Baker is accused of killing daughters Davina, 16, and Jasmine, 13, at the family's house in Stretham near Ely.

She is to appear at Peterborough Magistrates Court today.

The bodies were found on Wednesday after a telephone call was made from someone inside their house to a member of the public who then told an off-duty police officer.

Local media said the girls had suffered multiple stab wounds.

The girls' father David Baker said he was devastated by the news of their deaths.

"They have been taken from me and my whole family is in pain," he said in a statement.

"They are irreplaceable. I just want them back."

Mr Baker said Davina was finishing her GCSEs and wanted to become a social worker, while Jasmine was academically gifted and worked hard at school.
