European Commission President José Manuel Barroso is scheduled to arrive in Malta at about 11 p.m. today.

Mr Barroso meets President Eddie Fenech Adami at 9 a.m. tomorrow and will then call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anton Tabone, and address Parliament.

At about 10.30 a.m. he is scheduled to walk from Parliament to St John's Co-Cathedral, stopping for coffee at Caffè Cordina.

Mr Barroso and Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi are set to meet for talks at noon followed by a working lunch, after which a joint press conference will be held.

Mr Barroso leaves Malta later in the afternoon.
