The Maltacom Group was yesterday renamed Go as part of a rebranding exercise that sees a merger between Maltacom, Multiplus and Maltanet.
Go Mobile will remain an independent company but will operate within the Go brand.
The company yesterday also announced three brand descriptors - Go Plus, Go Business and Go Mobile.
Go Plus covers services provided to residential customers at their homes, including fixed line business (talk), broadband internet (surf) and digital television (watch).
Go Business addresses business customers.
In addition to fixed voice, broadband and television, Go Business also covers co-location and hosting services, providing complete and personalised solutions for the requirements of all kinds of businesses.
Go Mobile encompasses mobile communications.
Chairman Sonny Portelli introduced the newly named company saying the brand was based on the notion of its ability to fulfil promises and its tagline was "made for you". It was a brand standing for simplicity, creativeness, brilliance and honesty.
"This is an important milestone in this company's history. Since being privatised last year, a number of changes have taken place to ensure that our organisation places the customer at the centre of all our operations.
"The rebranding into Go will ensure that we can communicate in a more effective way, now that we are a quad-play organisation."
Chief executive officer David Kay announced that the Go flagship store in Psaila Street, Birkirkara, will be open tomorrow.
The outlet will be selling Go's quad-play offerings and it will also be accepting payment of bills. It will reflect the new look and feel of the brand.
By the end of next month, the outlets at Pavi and in St Julians will also be Go stores. All Maltacom outlets will eventually become Go outlets but Go Mobile outlets were to remain so.
Moreover, customers were to have access to a single customer care number - 8007 2121, available 24x7. Go Mobile's 146 and 7922 2146 will remain operative.
The company also launched a new portal - www.go.com.mt - bringing all its services into one website. Moreover, Go will be announcing new bundled packages and offers in the coming weeks.
Mr Kay said the new brand will also mean new content in the digital television platform as well as improved nationwide coverage.
And, in the coming weeks, Go Mobile will be issuing a number of commercial packages for the 3.5G network technology. He said rebranding was about everything the company did - the way people behaved, picked up the phone and developed new products and services. A brand, he said, had to match the expectations of customers and employees.
For the time being, Maltacom plc will remain the registered company name. The company will continue to be listed in the Maltese and foreign stock exchanges as such until this is changed during a general meeting of the company's shareholders.
