With reference to a comment in the On The Dot column (June 11), regarding Enemalta's SMS planned power notification service, please be informed that, contrary to what was stated, Enemalta Corporation had in fact introduced the service way back in May 2006.

To date Enemalta has over 2,400 subscribed customers to this service. All the registered users are informed through an SMS 48 hours before a planned power suspension is going to take place.

Customers can register up to three different addresses on each mobile phone. Signing up for this service is easy and can be accomplished by accessing Enemalta's website on www.enemalta.com.mt. Most importantly this service is being offered free of charge.

Customers with no internet access can easily register for this service by contacting our customer care department on 2122 4600.

It is also planned that the scope of the SMS notification service be extended in the near future to cover other news and activities of the corporation.
