Why has Heritage Malta done nothing to promote Mnajdra, Hagar Qim, Skorba, Ggantija or one of the many other historic ruins that date back to the earliest of times for consideration to be included as one of the Seven Wonders? Surely, as it is generally acknowledged worldwide that the oldest free standing temples are part of our heritage, and Hagar Qim was even selected for inclusion on some of our euro coins because of that very fact, it would have been more than appropriate for them to be included in the Seven Wonders of the World. We are talking about something that has been standing for over 6,000 years. That surely merits its inclusion in the shortlist of "Wonders". Nothing else in the world compares to it.
So come on Heritage Malta, pull your socks up and do your job. Also the Malta Tourism Authority should get on the band wagon and start promoting our temples. What better form of advertising for the country than knowing that one of the World's Seven Wonders can be found here in our backyard.
What possible comparison is there between the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower and our temples? To my mind it is no contest. The temples win hands down as being truly a Wonder of the World.
