Having read an article in The Times regarding organ donation support by the Maltese, I find myself rather confused.
This confusion arises from the fact that if 75 per cent of Maltese were in favour of organ donation, then surely if these intentions were put into practice, the number of organs available for transplantation should be enough to ensure that the amount of people awaiting organ transplants would be very small indeed, if any at all.
However, we know that the opposite is the reality. Is it a case that it is easy to say that one is in favour of organ donation but when push comes to shove, people do not follow through on their good intentions?
