Captain Caprian Borg of the Armed Forces of Malta has completed a two-week training course at the Defence Institute of Security Assistance Management in America.

Capt. Borg attended this course, funded by the US International Military Education and Training (IMET) programme, as part of his recently assigned duty as the AFM's training officer. He has gained knowledge on how to manage the money granted annually by the US government under the IMET programme.

For this year, Malta has been granted $119,000 in IMET funds and plans to use the money to send about 16 students on courses in the US.

America has granted $1.2 million to Malta under this programme since the island began participating in IMET in 1994.
