Floriana's Micallef nets May award

Floriana midfielder Manolito Micallef has scooped the final BOV Player of the month award for season 2006-2007 after being named the Premier League's top performer for May.

Mario Cilia, manager of Bank of Valletta's Floriana branch, presented the winner's trophy to Micallef.

Combining craft with graft in midfield, the versatile Micallef was Floriana's most consistent player in the latter part of the season to emerge as a top contender for the BOV monthly award.

Micallef donated the monetary prize, offered by BOV, to Puttinu Cares - Children's Cancer Support Group.
