Mosta rotunda pipe organ

I refer to the letter by Victor Zammit entitled Rotunda Pipe Organ (May 31).

Together with several others, I was present for the inauguration of the Rotunda organ on March, by Dr Hugo Agius Muscat, who besides playing seven wonderful pieces, also accompanied soprano Miriam Gauci.

Living in Mosta until I got married, I remember very clearly Mro Edwin Zammit playing the organ during Mass every weekend, and I agree with the correspondent that he should have been given a souvenir plaque marking the occasion.

Incidentally, Mgr Joe Carabott was not presented with a souvenir plaque ether. He led the Mosta parish for nearly 22 years and was the mastermind behind the project of the restoration of the organ. He could have also had some money reserved for its restoration. I am saying this, as I remember my parents receiving some literature on the subject some five years ago.

I am sure the Mosta Gunners, who have worked hard to shoulder the expense of the restoration, will make up for this mishap, which I feel sure was unintentional, with these two gentlemen.
