The St Paul's Bay Bars and Restaurants Association in association with Emanuel Delicata Ltd will hold a wine festival at Bugibba square on Saturday from 7 p.m.

St Paul's Bay local council and the MTA are also involved in the organisation.

Entertainment will be laid on by the Batista Leisure Group, singer Malcolm Pisani and the Spiteri Lucas Band accompanied by Ludwig Galea. Children will be entertained by a stilt walker and face painters.

Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, speaking at a press conference to launch the activity, said the government was doing its bit so that more activities could be held in the St Paul's Bay, Bugibba and Qawra area to attract tourists, and the MTA was planning a major activity there to greet the summer.

Earlier this year the MTA helped in the organisation of an Easter Monday Parade while the Carnival Committee helped to hold carnival activities in the area.

The minister said the government was allocating a substantial part of EU funding to infrastructural development in the St Paul's Bay area.
