National team for Antwerp European championship

The Maltese national team will be playing in the European Division Three Championship tournament in Antwerp, Belgium, between August 19 and 25.

There are five divisions in the European Championship and Malta qualified for Division Three following promotion two years ago in Austria. On that occasion the Maltese made it to the top four of the tournament.

The Malta Cricket Association has just announced its squad for the trip to Antwerp with manager Sarfraz Ali having 14 players at his disposal.

Malta are in Group B along with Belgium, Cyprus and Isle of Man. Group A is composed of Croatia, Finland, Portugal and Spain.

The national team has also secured the sponsorship of Globalair for the European Division Three Championship matches.

Fixtures

August 19 - Malta vs Cyprus.
August 20 - Malta vs Isle of Man.
August 22 - Malta vs Belgium.
August 23 - Semi-finals and positional play-offs.
August 25 - Final and positional play-offs.
