Licensed dock workers have approved the port reform agreement negotiated between the government and the Malta Dockers' Union.

The agreement was approved unanimously during a meeting of the MDU's executive held at the Trade Fair Grounds, Naxxar. The meeting was attended by 340 out of the 360 licensed workers.

The meeting was addressed by union president Joe Saliba and legal consultant George Abela. Details of the agreement will be released next week.

A total of 312 licensed port workers set up the MDU last September after they resigned from the General Workers' Union.
