Boat, car on fire

The fire fighting section of the Civil Protection Department was called out twice early yesterday morning to control fires, one on a cabin cruiser at Marsaxlokk and the other in a car at St Paul's Bay. The police said that it was at about 3.20 a.m.

The fire fighting section of the Civil Protection Department was called out twice early yesterday morning to control fires, one on a cabin cruiser at Marsaxlokk and the other in a car at St Paul's Bay.

The police said that it was at about 3.20 a.m. when someone informed them about the blaze at Xatt is-Sajjieda, in Marsaxlokk. The cabin cruiser was used for fishing.

Someone then phoned the police at about 4.45 a.m. to inform them that a car was on fire in Horatio Nelson Street, in St Paul's Bay. The police are investigating both cases.
