The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to brothers Karm and Thomas Galea who set up Megabyte and, over a span of approximately 30 years, were in the forefront to set up solutions to both the local private and public IT sectors.
Finally, the chairman of the Computer Society of Malta, Anton Callus, on behalf of ECDL Malta, made a prestigious award to the Minister for IT Austin Gatt for his outstanding contribution to the advancement of digital literacy in Malta.
Minister Gatt delivered a short speech where he announced that the University of Malta will have a new Faculty for Information Technology.
A monetary donation was also awarded to four MCAST students in recognition of the work they are doing to obtain diplomas in higher diplomas in the subjects of Networking/Support and Software Development. The students were Adrian Cassar, Melvin Xuereb, Justin Bonavia and Lynn Norma Russell.
