Wheelchair-unfriendly Sliema

I am a handicapped person confined to a wheelchair. I spend most of the time at Sliema so that I do not stay alone at home.

I am sad to say that accessibility for people like me is in a very bad state. The pavements are not smooth at all and I find it difficult to travel on pavements with my wheelchair.

On the other hand, the roads are not designed for wheelchairs, besides the risk of being run over by a car. Ramps from the roads to pavements are not good either. In certain cases there is also the risk of toppling over. The local council should keep people like me in mind because, even though we are bound to a wheelchair, we have a right to decent accessibility.
