\nThis final represented the climax of a season for Kavallieri who gave a good run to all opponents in the men's league.
The contest was somewhat tense at the start as both teams took time to study each other with no side looking in a hurry to seize an early lead.
Kavallieri played solid in defence but could not capitalise on their fast breaks as Aloysians were finding it difficult to open gaps in their opponents' zone.
Though Kavallieri looked more adventurous, the deadlock prevailed and neither team could open a substantial advantage.
In the second half, the lead changed hands on several occasions.
Kavallieri adopted a 3-3 defence module, shifting to 3-2-1 to keep Aloysians' best shooters at bay.
Aloysians did not show the usual flair in attack and with a six-flat defence were letting Kavallieri closing in too much at times.
Perhaps, that was the only difference between the teams as Aloysians did not succeed in taking advantage of the gaps on the line, left open by Kavallieri.
With the game drawing to a close, Kavallieri scored two goals in quick succession and for the remaining three minutes held tight to claim the honour with Aloysians only succeeding in pulling one goal back.
Neville Mifsud, of Aloysians, received a red card just before the final whistle.
Referees: Clyde Borg Conti and Thomas Degiorgio.
Women's Final
La Salle Vitality 16
Aloysians Veneziani C. 10
This was a final of two stories.
The first half produced only seven goals and was characterised by basic mistakes at both ends of the court.
Aloysians lost their keeper in the second half and though the game remained on the same beat, La Salle started getting the upperhand with shots from the distance, particularly the left wing.
There was also tight marking on Brenda Camilleri, of Aloysians. The latter tried desperately hard in attack but in defence the team left much to be desired.
In the end, La Salle were superior to their opponents and deservedly claimed the KO title.
