Obituary

BARTOLO. On May 29, FR ANSELM BARTOLO, OFM Cap, aged 75, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss the Maltese Capuchin Friars, his sister Rosina, nephews and nieces.
The funeral Mass will be said today at 8.45 a.m. at Marija Regina parish church, Marsa followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

BORG. On May 29, at St Luke's Hospital, DOMINIC of Valletta (Dominican Tertiary), aged 70, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Annie, his only daughter Mary Rose and her husband Anthony Brincat, his grandchildren Gaetan and Natasha, his brothers and sisters, in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 7.30 a.m. for St Dominic parish church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Dominican Missions in Albania will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

CHETCUTI. On May 28, ALBERT, aged 73 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones and comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Carmen, née Schembri, his children Helga and her husband Martin Pizzuto, Mark and his wife Moyra, Celia and her husband Mario Falzon, Steve and his wife Jackie, his grandchildren Greg, Neil, Luke and Rebecca, his sister Maria Xuereb, many relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 1.45 p.m. for St Catherine parish church, Zejtun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.15 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar Nazaret, Zejtun, would be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

CHETCUTI. On May 28, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, PAULINE of Mosta, aged 55, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joseph, her son Daniel and his fiancée Letizia Borg Cristiano, her daughter Thea, her mother Maria, her brothers and sisters, Angelo and his wife Jessie, Connie and her husband Joe Sammut, Miriam and Bernardette and her husband Charles Briffa, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 4 p.m. for Dingli parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Dingli cemetery. Donations to The Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated.

Dancers Win Scholarships

Fifteen-year old Elena Zammit and dance teacher Brigitte Gauci Borda have been awarded scholarships by the Hungarian Dance Academy of Budapest.

Ms Zammit, a pupil of Deborah McNamara's School of Dance, has won a two-week scholarship to study various dance disciplines taught by a number of international teachers in Budapest next August. Ms Gauci Borda has won her second scholarship as a dance teacher.

These scholarships have been made possible through collaboration between the Dance Council Malta and the Hungarian Dance Academy that resulted from a recent private cultural visit by Tanya Bayona, president of the Dance Council, and vice president Alison White with the assistance of the Honorary Consul for Hungary, Michael Soler.

Summer Party

DJ Alex Grech will be playing 1980s classic hits at the Reflex 80s Summer Party on Saturday at Gianpula. The club will include two venues, one where DJ Alex Grech will be playing and another one, the Groove Gardens at the back of the main stage, where New Romantic, Electro and New Wave Music will be played.

Doors open at 9.30 p.m. and tickets cost Lm2.50 per person.

A boat party will also be held aboard the Hera II on June 29. The boat will leave the Sliema front at 8 p.m. and head to Comino. Tickets cost Lm5 each.

Roads Closed

Triq Is-Sebh, in Qormi, will be closed to traffic today between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Traffic will be diverted to the slip roads.

Traffic exiting the Sta Venera tunnels will be diverted towards Marsa between 1 and 2 p.m.
