President Emeritus Guido de Marco yesterday launched a range of Marsovin wines called Caravaggio.

The new range launched at St John's Cavalier in Valletta includes a Merlot, a Shiraz, a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chardonnay. Each wine carries one of Caravaggio's masterpieces on its label.

The Merlot shows The Beheading Of Saint John The Baptist; the Shiraz, the Portrait Of A Knight Of Malta; the Cabernet Sauvignon, the Bacchus and the Chardonnay, the Rest On The Flight to Egypt.

These wines are being produced by official appointment to the Caravaggio Foundation. From every bottle sold, Marsovin will be donating money to the foundation to help restore Caravaggio's paintings.

Marsovin is also making a donation to the nuns of the Monastery of St Ursula contributing towards the restoration expenses of the monastery.
