Maltese pharmacists lead workshop on patient's safety at European seminar

The European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP), in collaboration with the European Society of Clinical Pharmacists (ESCP), organised a foundation seminar on Safety at the Patient's bedside between April 20 and 21 in Prague.

About 30 pharmacists from Eastern European countries participated. The seminar was addressed by Elfride Dolinar, vice-president of the EAHP, Patrick Muff, chief clinical pharmacist in Riaz, Switzerland, and Albert Lenderink, hospital pharmacist from The Netherlands.

Workshops were organised in which participants could learn about practising pharmacy in a hospital scenario. Alison Anastasi and Louise Azzopardi, hospital pharmacists and visiting teaching staff at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Malta, led a workshop aimed to teach pharmacists from Eastern European countries on aspects of patient compliance and patient education.
