The Institute for Energy Technology and the Cleaner Technology Centre of Malta University Services are organising a one-day seminar on energy efficiency policies, applications and research on Wednesday September 5, at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard.
Energy efficiency has become one of the major areas of interest to policymakers, energy providers and users. The EU Energy Directives all focus on energy efficiency as the immediate measure to be taken to curb increased use of fossil fuels.
Malta is fully dependent on imported fossil fuel supply, and is therefore very sensitive to any changes in the provision or cost of this resource. Consequently, Malta should be at the forefront of applying energy efficient measures for everyday life.
The seminar aims to present experiences and examples of energy efficiency policies, research and implementation, to enhance awareness and stimulate greater use of technologies that lead to energy saving.
Among the topics to be covered are energy efficiency policies and roadmaps, energy efficiency applications in industry, energy efficiency in buildings, energy saving in households, and innovative use of energy in transport and aviation.
Authors who wish to present a paper to the seminar should submit an abstract by not later than June 7.
A technical committee will review all submissions and will notify all applicants by June 22.
