Inter Club Malta delegation meets Moratti
Invites club supremo to visit islands with team
Monday, May 21, 2007 will be remembered as a special occasion in the annals of Inter Club Malta as on that day, a club delegation was received by Internazionale president Massimo Moratti at his office in Milan.
The delegation was composed of club president John Zammit, treasurer Lawrence Cutajar and Raymond Camilleri.
The relationship between Internazionale and Inter Club Malta and the 2006/07 Serie A championship were among the subjects discussed during the two-hour meeting.
A statement from Inter Club Malta said Moratti indicated that the core of players who led the side to the Serie A title this season will be retained but he also intends to strengthen the squad with the arrival of two or three classy players.
The members of the Inter Club Malta delegation presented Moratti with a memento depicting the Maltese map, two sets of badges commemorating the club's 15th league championship and another set marking all league titles won by Inter.
The Inter president had words of praise for Malta and pointed out that he has visited the island a number of times for business purposes.
Prior to their departure, the Maltese delegation invited Moratti to visit Malta again but with the full Inter squad.
He promised that he will take up their proposal at a later and more opportune time.
