Customer care skills of over 360 taxi, bus and horse-drawn cab drivers, and other persons involved in providing transport to tourists have beeen improved by means of 32 Merhba training programmes organised by the Malta Tourism Authority in collaboration with ADT.

Among others, the programme participants were taught how to communicate better with tourists, were taken on guided tours to various historical locations in Valletta, and were given helpful information about Malta to pass on to tourists.

MTA chief executive officer David Mifsud said during the certificate presentation ceremony held at the ADT's offices in Pietà that offering a quality service and ensuring value for money was the key to our tourism industry's success.

The training programmes were attended by 137 taxi drivers, 96 bus drivers, 47 ADT dispatchers, 48 coach drivers, 18 car hire operators and 18 horse-drawn cab drivers.
