For the third year, Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija of Marsascala is organising a summer school.
The summer school's facilities can be used for activities such as swimming, pottery and horse-riding. It also caters for persons with disabilities, free of charge. The profits derived from the summer school will fund other services for persons with disabilities so that they can be offered free of charge.
Unfortunately, the club has only a limited number of places. The limit is set only because of financial constraints and therefore, through more funding and sponsorships, the facility could cater for more children. The summer school is already fully booked. However there is a long waiting list, which is bound to increase.
Furthermore, the costs to run these facilities run into thousands of liri. Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija has managed to secure sponsorships from corporate companies, while parents are also assisted to collect funds from entities to soften this financial burden.
Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija is urging companies that would like to help, or to sponsor a facilitator by donating Lm250, as well as members of the public who can donate Lm1 a month, to phone 2163-6999. Those wishing to send their children to the summer school may call on 2163-6526 or 2163-4412 for more details. A few vacancies for facilitators and teachers are also available.
