Bruseghin wins Giro time trial

Italy's Marzio Bruseghin of the Lampre team won the 13th stage of the Giro d'Italia from Biella to Santuario di Oropa yesterday.

Bruseghin set a time of 28 minutes 55 seconds for the 12.6-km mountain time trial to the Oropa sanctuary.

Italy's Leonardo Piepoli was one second slower. Compatriot Danilo Di Luca finished third, eight seconds slower, and retained the overall race lead.

Today's 192-km 14th stage is from Cantu to Bergamo, near Milan.
