The secretary of the Pietà council yesterday filed a judicial protest in the First Hall of the Civil Court against three councillors, including the mayor.
John O'Dea said the mayor, Sunny Attard, was obliged to carry out a performance assessment of his (Mr O'Dea's) work and to discuss the same with him. However, Mr Attard had failed to discuss with Mr O'Dea, nor had he considered, in good faith, any circumstance or comment that might have been made by Mr O'Dea.
According to Mr O'Dea, Mr Attard's actions were indicative of a negative approach in his regard. Mr Attard had recommended that no performance bonus be awarded to Mr O'Dea, and this had been approved by two other council members, Jessie Fabri and Anthony Camilleri.
Mr O'Dea said he was being discriminated against and treated in a degrading manner and that the actions of the three council members were causing him to suffer damages.
He called upon Mr Attard, Ms Fabri and Mr Camilleri to revise the performance assessment that had been carried out in his regard.
Lawyer Andrew Borg Cardona acted for Mr O'Dea.
