The Marsascala local council filed a judicial protest against the Water Services Corporation holding it responsible for damage caused to St Anne Road due to shoddy works.

The local council said the corporation had hired a contractor to carry out some works in the road. However, the contractor had not carried out the job well and this led to a "disaster" in the road where pavements were left broken up and water seeping into people's homes.

The local council called on the corporation to remedy the situation and held it liable in damages.

Lawyers José Herrera and Veronique Dalli signed the protest.
