Formula One statistics for Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix:
LEWIS HAMILTON
Briton Lewis Hamilton's second place in Spain made him the youngest leader of the Formula One world championship since the inaugural race in 1950.
The previous youngest leader was New Zealander Bruce McLaren, founder of Hamilton's team, after the 1960 Argentine Grand Prix. Hamilton was 22 years four months and six days old, a month and two days younger than McLaren had been. The Briton, the first driver to finish his first four races
on the podium, has also led every grand prix he has entered so
far.
Only two other drivers have scored points in their first four championship grands prix -- Britain's triple champion Jackie Stewart, who scored points in his first six in 1965, and American Richie Ginther, who also scored in his first six spread over 1960 and 1961.
The last driver to win a race in his debut season was Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya with Williams in Italy in 2001. The last Briton to lead the world championship before Hamilton was David Coulthard, winner of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in 2003.
LANDMARK
If McLaren win on Sunday, it will be the team's 150th grand prix victory. Ferrari have won 195 races and Williams 113. Renault have won 33. POINTS Takuma Sato's eighth place in Spain handed Super Aguri their first point in Formula One. Only Spyker have yet to open their account of those currently on the starting grid.
MONACO No rookie driver has ever won in Monaco. Brazilian Ayrton Senna won Monaco a record six times, including five in a row from 1989 to 1993. Four current drivers have won in the principality: Coulthard (2000, 2002), Jarno Trulli (2004), Kimi Raikkonen (2005) and Fernando Alonso (2006). Of all the circuits on the grand prix calendar, Monaco is the only one that has not seen a Ferrari winner in the last five years. The Italian team's last win there was in 2001 with Michael Schumacher. Ferrari have had eight Monaco victories over the years, compared to 13 for McLaren. Only four of the last 10 races in Monaco have been won by the driver on pole position. However the last three victories have all gone with pole and eight out of 10 have been won by a driver starting on the front row of the grid. (Reuters)
