Close to 100 athletes participated in the International Triathlon Cup which incorporated the eighth Triathlon Championships of the Small States of Europe (TCSSE) in Cyprus, yesterday. Triathletes hailed from Ukraine, Russia, Greece and the small states of Europe.

Danica Spiteri, TCSSE winner last year in Malta, was second in Limassol in two hours and 18 minutes. The women's TCSSE race winner was from Liechtenstein. She was three minutes faster than Spiteri.

Keith Galea also had an encouraging race in Cyprus, managing a fourth place (TCSSE) in 2:01. The timing was a personal best for him. Brian Magri covered the distance in 2:04 but Mark Zammit did not complete the race as he retired injured in the run segment.
