President visits Gharghur

The President and Mrs Fenech Adami yesterday paid an official visit to Gharghur.

Dr Fenech Adami, who was shown round the village by mayor Mario Gauci, visited bee keeper Bertu Sant and Joe Zarb who dedicates most of his time to restoring decorations for the annual feast.

The President socialised with residents after Mass where he was served with coffee and pastizzi as he watched folk dancing.

He was also taken to Semaforu Tower which is to be restored by the local council, the chapel dedicated to Santa Marija and the premises of the St Bartholomew Philharmonic Society.

Mrs Fenech Adami, accompanied by Mrs Gauci, visited families as well as the Franciscan sisters.
