Members of the Zabbar Sanctuary Museum recently drew my attention to the piece about the fatal accident of August 28, 1881, (The Sunday Times, August 27, 2006).

Some weeks ago, this ex-voto painting was restored and a signature of Horatio Agius, dated September 15, 1881, came to light.

It may be that Horatio was either the artist, or the photographer, or both.

Any information about Horatio Agius would be greatly appreciated.
