For the past few years St Julian's council, in collaboration with various entities, namely the Malta Tourism Authority and the Cleansing Services Department, have, during the summer, provided daily sweeping and emptying of litter bins, extra cleaning and washing of streets on Friday and Sunday morning, and also litter picking.

The installation of litter bins has increased considerably to prevent littering, but to no avail (also because most of the time these are vandalised and therefore have to be replaced).

Almost 50,000 people visit Paceville on the weekend. If cleaning were not carried out early every morning, walking the streets of Paceville would be impossible. This is not a question of keeping the place clean but a matter of not dirtying the area.
