A future Labour government would fully support the Marsa Golf Club's expansion project aimed at upgrading its facilities for the benefit of Maltese and foreign golfers, Labour leader Alfred Sant said yesterday during a visit to the club.

Dr Sant said the golf club could be further developed through the cooperation of the government and other authorities for the country to become more of a tourist attraction.

He urged the Nationalist government to support this expansion project and said the country needed two or three golf courses.

Dr Sant and his Labour Party delegation, which included Evarist Bartolo, the party's spokesman on tourism, were welcomed by Ralph Asciak, chairman of the Marsa Sports Club and honorary president of the Royal Malta Golf Club.
