The third Malta Racing Club (MRC)-Societe du Cheval Francais (SECF) Encounter Races series will be held on Sunday at the Marsa Racetrack.
Five French professional drivers will be facing their Maltese counterparts in four heats over a distance of 2,140m.
The visitors won the first two editions of this championship in 2005 and 2006 with the popular Pierre Levesque putting on an impressive performance, garnering the highest number of points and victories.
Driving five-year-old French trotter Offshore Dream, Levesque was the winner of the world-renowned Prix d'Amerique at the Vincennes Racetrack, in Paris, last January.
The MRC-SECF Encounter Races and the presence of such popular drivers from France, confirm the excellent relations between the two bodies.
These ties are being enhanced through the presence of the SECF Technical Director and Union Europeenne du Trot (UET) General Secretary Jacques Chartier. He will spearhead the French contingent in Malta.
