Solutions to junk mail
I have complete sympathy with Noel Formosa (May 9) and others who have been complaining about the junk mail that is routinely deposited into our mailboxes. The postman cannot comply with my request not to deliver what has been sent through Maltapost.
I have complete sympathy with Noel Formosa (May 9) and others who have been complaining about the junk mail that is routinely deposited into our mailboxes. The postman cannot comply with my request not to deliver what has been sent through Maltapost. Other junk that is also delivered by independent organisations is just as unwelcome.
The solution can be quite simple.
(1) Place the unsolicited material inside an envelope. Write the address of whoever sent it, clearly and legibly, preferably in capitals; do not write a "sender's address". Do not put a stamp. Mail the envelope.
(2) If you want to avoid the expense of an envelope, simply deposit the unwanted material straight into your favourite Maltapost letter box. If they can legally put unwanted mail into our boxes then surely we can return the compliment.
If enough of us follow the proposals that I have made, maybe the originators will eventually get the idea.
