Year in year out, apart from some exception, Lou Bondì's words ring true: "Is taking part in the Eurovision worth the while?" Grace Borg would surely pounce on that, stating it creates opportunity, broadens Maltese horizons and the patriotic list goes on... but is it really worthwhile?

Every year we seem to point fingers at the choreography, or lack of it, poor promotion, drab stage presence, the "big" dress, the well-kept secret... This year Olivia Lewis chose wisely to go through it all, from the lavish dress choice and extensions to the golden boys, and while praising her for the effort I ask: What went wrong? Is it just a "game", a fair competition - or is it?

Why are the Maltese so hyped up when it comes to the Eurovison, rightly believing in every local artist though dismissing them for any lack of success? Every year we all speculate and believe Malta will qualify in the top 10 and top six, but what about when all that speculation and high hopes go wrong?

My beliefs seem to lie on the same lines as Mr Bondì's.
