A Zebbug man was yesterday charged with cultivating about 60 cannabis plants.

Steven Micallef, 29, pleaded not guilty to cultivation and to the possession of the plants on and before May 2. He was granted bail against a Lm1,000 deposit and a personal guarantee of Lm5,000.

Police inspectors Chris Pullicino and Raymond Cassar prosecuted.

Lawyer Franco Debono was council to Mr Micallef.
