MADC's production of Losing Louis, a comedy that spans two family generations, got underway last weekend.

Written by Simon Mendes Da Costa's, interwoven events from the past and present blend in this hilarious comedy set in a middle-class bedroom.

Secrets that refuse to remain buried erupt as Jewish and non-Jewish family members are brought together.

The scene is set in the late 1960s when Louis, an adulterous solicitor, enjoys a forbidden relationship with a female prodigy - what he doesn't know until too late is that his son, Tony, is privy to their lovemaking.

After years of separation, Louis's funeral is the catalyst for the family members having to face it out in the bedroom - the place where all the confusion began... and the place where the truth about each of them will finally be discovered.

With Tony now a disgruntled middle-aged man hitched to a hideous vulgarian and bitterly resentful of his younger brother, the bedroom is transformed from a passion pit into a place where past secrets and guilt are indecently exposed.

Directed by Wesley Ellul, Losing Louis stars Malcolm Galea, Jean Pierre Aguis, Nanette Brimmer, Stefan Cachia Zammit, Jo Caruana, Rachel Darmanin Demajo and Ingrid Scerri. The play is being staged at the newly-refurbished MADC Clubrooms in Sta Venera from Friday to Sunday.
