Pupils in Grades 5, 6 and 7 at San Anton School, L-Imselliet, who are learning to play a musical instrument, were recently given the opportunity to perform at a school lunchtime concert in front of their fellow pupils and teachers.

The performances were so well received that the school is seriously considering holding such concerts on a more regular basis. The school said that the concerts fit very neatly into its ethos of providing an education that meets the children's individual needs while providing them with opportunities to express their talents and grow in self-confidence.

The concert was organised by the school's music teacher, Michelle Abela.

The programme ranged from simple tunes to Beethoven's Für Elise and the instruments used included piano, electric guitar, classical guitar, castanets, drums, flute and violin.
