It was interesting to read in The Times recently a small news item concerning a woman in China who was arrested and tried for smuggling drugs into the country. She pleaded that she had been paid by a drugs dealer and had only agreed to do it because she needed money to buy a plot in the cemetery for her funeral. She was sentenced to death. Later this was commuted to a suspended sentence. Does this mean she was hanged?
