A record fleet of 35 boats will race off to the southern coast of Sicily this weekend for the annual Marzamemi Offshore Regatta, organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club with the assistance of the Marzamemi Yacht Club and sponsors Gewiss.

Tomorrow's first race, from Malta to Marzamemi, starts with the first warning signal at 8.25 a.m. Sunday will be a resting day and an excursion trip is planned for Monday.

The return leg on Tuesday - Marzamemi to Malta - will have the first warning signal at 8.25 a.m..

This year, the RMYC is adopting a system to group and classify boats in the IRC category.

The Racing Committee, however, may further adjust this policy as necessary to suit the characteristics of the local fleet.

The races to Marzamemi and back will count for the 2007 RMYC Offshore Challenge Trophy.
