The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) have appointed Levski Sofia coach Stanimir Stoilov as caretaker coach of the national side for the next two Euro 2008 qualifiers.
Hristo Stoichkov, who took over from Plamen Markov in 2004, resigned as national team coach earlier this month to take charge at Primera Liga side Celta Vigo. Stoilov, who led Levski to the Champions League group stages this season, will be in charge only for the two matches with Belarus on June 2 and 6.
The BFU also appointed Dimitar Penev, who guided the Balkan country's team during their remarkable run to the 1994 World Cup semi-finals in the United States, as team manager to replace Dimitar Dimitrov, who quit his post when Stoichkov left.
