Booklets in fund-raising drive

The Helping Hands Foundation has presented the sum of Lm10,660 to Fr Gorg Grima, director of the missionary movement Gesù Fil-Proxxmu.

The money was raised from the sale of a booklet about the movement's work.

The foundation produces booklets on chosen charities and sends its representatives out on the streets to sell them and raise funds for charities. The one helping Gesù Fil-Proxxmu was the 10th edition and was sold during Christmas time.

At present, the foundation is selling the 11th edition of the booklet to raise funds for the Dar tal-Providenza of Siggiewi.

A spokesman for the foundation said that a few weeks since the launch of the campaign to help the Siggiewi homes, the sum of Lm6,000 has already been raised.

The spokesman said that during the last two-and-a-half years since the foundation started its fund-raising campaigns, over Lm130,000 have been raised for various charities.
