As a Jazz-oriented musician I feel that the Malta Jazz Festival is slipping into a different perspective of Jazz music as years go by. Previous artists who performed in past editions of the festival were the greatest that the international Jazz scene has to offer. Local musicians and Jazz enthusiasts are undoubtedly thankful for this, but it seems that over the past few years the artist line-up is becoming very commercial.

I would like to thank the current promoters for bringing such great artists to give concerts in Malta, and I am sure that there is a long list of wonderful world renowned artists still to perform on our island, but when it comes to the Malta Jazz Festival, it must be pure Jazz.
