Fire simulation drill at Radisson
I was very disappointed to read in your back page report last Sunday on the fire simulation exercise at Radisson that our guests had a rude awakening. The report was completely inaccurate when it said that none of the guests knew about the exercise.
I was very disappointed to read in your back page report last Sunday on the fire simulation exercise at Radisson that our guests had a rude awakening.
The report was completely inaccurate when it said that none of the guests knew about the exercise. How can one in his right senses even consider having an exercise of that magnitude without involving all the hotel guests?
All the hotel guests were made aware via various information channels of the drill that was being held in conjunction with the Civil Protection Department (CPD). This type of exercise is held annually in conjunction with the CPD while other fire evacuation exercises are held periodically throughout the year.
Editor's note: CPD director Peter Cordina explicitly said in a statement to all the media, issued on the day of the fire drill, that guests at the Radisson were not informed of the exercise. Our report was therefore entirely faithful to the CPD director's statement.
